- Alex Iwobi has reportedly turned down a chance to atone for a provocative gesture he made at Rennes player, Hamari Traore, during Thursday’s UEFA Europa League clash at Arsenal, insisting he had had to endure a lot of fouls and curses from the defender.
Iwobi has come under heavy fire for holding up his nose as he was fighting a bad smell when Traore walked up to him and he had to be pushed away by a fellow Arsenal teammate before the confrontation escalated.
A teammate later requested in a social media chat that Iwobi will do well to apologise.
But the Super Eagles star was blunt to say he won’t be doing so.
“…The Guy was Fouling Me, cussing (sic) Me & My Mum, He was putting Middle Fingers up at Me…” according to a chat made available to SCORENIGERIA
“They won’t catch that or say anything about that. But they will quickly say something to me.
“I’m sorry bro, but I ain’t (going to apologise).”
