African champions Nigeria will now take on a Slovakian top division club in Slovakia on Sunday, and not the Slovakia women national team, a Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) official has said.
The Super Falcons’ Team Administrator, Mary Oboduku, said on Friday that the Super Falcons would be up against ZNK Pomurje Beltinci, which boasts eight players in the Slovakian national squad.
She said the Nigeria delegation would depart its Avita Resort camp at Bad Tatzmannsdorf in Austria immediately after lunch on Sunday.
“The delegation is scheduled to arrive in Beltinci by 2:30 p.m, for the game starting at 4 p.m. Slovakia time,’’ Oboduku said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Sunday’s encounter is the last friendly game for the nine-times African champions before they leave on France on Tuesday.
In France, they will participate in the 8th FIFA Women’s World Cup finals starting on Friday next week.
On Tuesday, the Falcons were in Hungary where they beat top division club Halandas Viktoria 5-1 at the Kiraly Sports Centre in Szombathely.
Two goals from Asisat Oshoala, and one each from Chinwendu Ihezuo, Francisca Ordega and Ogonna Chukwudi decided the game.
